ABSTRACT
ART IN FIVE TONES AND COMPLEMENTARIES by Torres-García combines ideas of
abstraction and Modernism with Inca imagery in a style that he named
Constructive Universalism. He used the stone patterns of Inca architecture in
paintings that underscored for him the universal validity of abstract art.
